Tâm Sự Tài Xế Taxi... …. “Self Development”

How to Turn Ideas into Action
by Jim Rohn
Being genuinely disciplined requires that you develop the ability to take action. You don't need to be too hasty, but you also don't want to lose much time. The time to act is when the idea strikes us—when it is hot and the emotion is strong, before the feeling passes and the idea dims. If you don't, you’ll fall prey to the law of diminishing intent. A month from now, the passion will be cold—a year from now, it won’t be found.
So take action. Set up discipline when the excitement is high and your idea is clear and powerful. You've got to take action—otherwise the wisdom is wasted. The enthusiasm will soon pass, unless you apply it to a disciplined activity. Discipline enables you to capture the emotion and wisdom and translate them into action. The key is to increase your motivation.

Goals are aspirations until they become real. Then they become responsibilities.
We may desire a family, a new car or a big job promotion, and then once we attain that – it becomes our new responsibility. Because then we have a family that relies on us, and a car that needs insurance and upkeep. And once we get that corner office, we take on tasks that are even greater than we had before.

You can’t ask for what you want unless you know what it is. A lot of people don’t know what they want or they want much less than they deserve. First you have to figure out what you want. Second, you have to decide that you deserve it. Third, you have to believe you can get it. And, fourth, you have to have the guts to ask for it.

Jim Rohn
You reap what you sow. In fact, you always reap more than you sow—you plant a seed and reap a bushel. What you give you get. What you put into the ground then grows out of the ground. If you give love you will receive love. If you give time, you will gain time. It is one of the truest laws of the universe. Decide what you want out of life and then begin to sow it.
Hard work is never a waste. No one will say, “It is too bad he was such a good, hard worker.” But if you aren’t they will surely say, “It’s too bad he was so lazy—he could have been so much more!” Hard work will leave a grand legacy. Give it your all on your trip around the earth. You will do a lot of good and leave a terrific legacy.

There are two objectives for human beings :
1) to survive
2) to succeed…. to flourish
Most people settle for survival only. Why? It is a mystery of the mind… and you can’t do anything about it…just let it be a mystery.

Are You Moving to the Natural Rhythm of Life?
One of the difficulties we face in our industrialized age is that we've lost our sense of seasons. Unlike the farmer whose priorities change with the seasons, we have become impervious to the natural rhythm of life—and we have our priorities out of balance as a result.
For a farmer, springtime is his most active time. It's then when he must work around the clock, up before the sun and still toiling at the stroke of midnight. He must keep his equipment running at full capacity because he has but a small window of time for the planting of his crop. When winter comes, there is less for him to do to keep him busy.
There is a lesson here: Learn to use the seasons of life.
Decide when to pour it on and when to ease back, when to take advantage and when to let things ride. It's easy to keep going from 9-5 year in and year out and lose a natural sense of priorities and cycles. Don't let one year blend into another in a seemingly endless parade of tasks and responsibilities.
Keep your eye on your own seasons, lest you lose sight of value and substance.

4 Reasons to Take Control of Your Destiny
by Jim Rohn
One of the first things successful people realize is the old adage, "If it is to be, it is up to me."
For you, that means that your success, your course is up to you. This doesn't mean that you do it all alone. It simply means that you take responsibility for your life and your career.
Too many people today look at opportunity and figure it is up to someone else to make sure they get it. They wait and wait, figuring that it is up to someone else. And then the wait is over, and it is too late to do anything. Their life is over and they are filled with regret.
But this isn’t true for you. You know that you must take responsibility for your life. It is up to you.
The fact is, nobody else is going to do it for you. You must do it yourself.
Now, some people might think, That's a lot of responsibility. But here's what I think: That is the best news you can ever hear. You get to choose your life. Hundreds of millions of people all around the world would give anything to live in the situation you do—to have the opportunity to take control of their destiny. "It is up to you" is a great blessing!
Here’s why:
1. You get to chart your own destiny.
Maybe you want to start a small business and stay there. That's great because you can choose that. Maybe you want to create a small chain of stores. Maybe you want to have a net worth of $100 million. That's OK, too. The point is that you get to choose. You can do whatever you like. Different people have different dreams and they should live them accordingly.
2. You reap what you sow.
Sleep in and go to work late and reap the return. Or get up early and outwork the others and earn a greater return. Place your capital at risk and earn a return. Place your capital at greater risk and perhaps reap a greater return. You decide what you will sow and thus what you will reap.
3. No one else can stop you from achieving your dream.
Yes, there will always be obstacles that come up and people who may not like what you are doing, but you can just move on and chart your own course. There is great freedom in that.
4. You experience the joy of self-determination.
There is no greater pride than knowing you set your mind on something and accomplished it. Those who live with a victim mentality never get to experience the joy of accomplishment because they are always waiting for someone else to come to the rescue. Those who take responsibility get to live the joy of seeing a job well done.
Let me ask you a question: Where will you be in five years? Ten years? Twenty-five years? Do you know? Do you have an idea? Have you ever dreamed about it or set a goal for it? Are you willing to take responsibility and recognize that it is up to you?
You will be wherever you decide to be at that point. You decide. It is up to you.
And that is very exciting!

Rohn: If You Change Yourself, You Can Change Your Life.
- Jim Rohn.
You cannot change the circumstances. But you can get stronger, wiser, better. Life is about constant, predictable patterns of change, and the only constant factor will be our feelings and attitudes toward life. We as human beings have the power of attitude and that attitude determines choice, and choice determines results. All that we are and all that we can become has indeed been left to us to decide and interpret through our attitude and choices.
Life is like the changing seasons —you cannot change the seasons, but you can change yourself. So the first major lesson in life to learn is how to handle the winters. They come regularly, right after autumn. Some are long, some are short, some are difficult, some are easy, but they always come right after autumn. That is never going to change.
There are all kinds of winters: the "winter" when you can't figure it out, the "winter" when everything seems to go awry. There are economic winters, social winters and personal winters.
Wintertime can bring disappointment, and disappointment is common to all of us. So you must learn how to handle the winters. You must learn how to handle difficulty; it always comes after opportunity. That is never going to change.
The big question is what to do about winters. You can't get rid of January simply by tearing it off the calendar. But here is what you can do: You can get stronger; you can get wiser; you can get better. Remember that trio of words: stronger, wiser, better. The winters won't change, but you can.
Before I understood this, I used to wish for summer when it was winter. When things were difficult, I wished they were easy. I didn't know any better. Then my mentor Earl Shoaff gave me the answer from a part of his unique philosophy when he said, "Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better. Don't wish for fewer problems, wish for more skills. Don't wish for less challenge, wish for more wisdom."
Whatever you are going to do with your life, get at it. Learn how to move with the seasons of life.

Without the discipline of paying constant, daily attention, we take things for granted. Be serious. Life is not a practice session.
For every disciplined effort, there are multiple rewards. That's one of life's great arrangements. If you sow well, you will reap well. Life is full of laws that both govern and explain behaviors, but the law of sowing and reaping may well be the major law we need to understand: For every disciplined effort, there are multiple rewards.
