Tâm Sự Tài Xế Taxi... …. “Self Development”
Dạo trước em đi làm cu-li “process worker” 5 ngày trong hăng. V́ thiếu tiền xài, cuối tuần chạy xe taxi thêm 2 ngày nữa. Trong lúc rảnh chờ khách, em đọc đủ loại truyện, tác giả nào là Kim Dung, Quỳnh Dao, v..v
Sau mấy năm trời làm việc nh́n túi tiền của ḿnh cũng chẳng có dư bao nhiêu.

Cảm ơn bác dành thời giờ quư báu ra dịch những đoạn văn ở trên. Dĩ nhiên tốn rất nhiều thời giờ. Sách của mấy ông này viết rất hay. Hay hơn nữa là nghe “Audio CDs” của mấy ông này nói chuyện. Thật là lạ, mỗi lần nghe lại là mỗi lần học được đều mới.

Mỗi ngày anh đều dành ít nhất một tiếng đồng hồ đọc sách. Mỗi tháng phải đọc hết ít nhất một cuốn sách. Có nhiều ư tưởng hay, anh viết lên đây chia sẻ với những ai ham muốn học hỏi.

Những ai t́nh cờ đọc bản dịch của bác trên đây nên cảm ơn bác thật nhiều. Nếu họ áp dụng liền vào cuộc sống th́ sẽ thấy có kết quả ngay. Có một cái khó đó là ngày ngày đều học tập. Đó là nuôi dưỡng tinh thần lành mạnh.
Nó cũng giống như cơ thể ngày ngày đều phải ăn, phải uống để nuôi dưỡng cơ thể khoẻ mạnh.

LN đă đọc hết cuốn sách trên đây. Không biết đến bao giờ có cơ hội đụng tới nó nữa.
Nay bắt đầu một cuộc phiêu lưu khác, sách có tựa đề “The New Psycho-Cybernectics” của ông Dr. Maxwell Maltz.

Làm người nên biết bài học “The Scorpion and the Frog”
One day a scorpion is hanging around the side of a stream. A frog happens by on his way across the stream. The scorpion cannot swim so he stops the frog and asks if he can climb on his back for a ride across the water.
“Do you think I am crazy?” The frog says. “If I let you on my back, you’ll certainly sting me and I’ll sink in the water and die.”
The scorpion replies, “hey just think about it for a second, I can’t swim. If I sting you, then you’ll die and I’ll sink and die too.”
The frog thinks for a second and decides that makes sense, so he proceeds to give the scorpion a ride across the stream.
About half way across the stream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog screams “What are you doing? Why did you sting me? Now I am going to drown and die and you are going to sink and die too.”
The scorpion says “because I am a scorpion.”

Câu chuyện ngụ ngôn này cho thấy … Trời sinh ra con bọ cạp (cũng như đă sinh ra Sa tăng và người lành, "Ác" và "Thiện") là để … chích kẻ khác cho chết, để làm ǵ th́ chỉ có … Trời biết! Có điều là bản chất cuả nó là … chích và chích; c̣n hậu quả như thế nào, kể cả cho bản thân nó, không cần biết!
Mọi người bỗng nhớ lại câu : ”Đừng nghe những ǵ nó nói, mà hăy nh́n kỹ những ǵ nó làm!”

Ếch nghĩ lại, thấy có lư, nên nó cứ để bọ cạp leo lên lưng mà vượt suối.
Đến khoảng giưă ḍng, bọ cạp chích ếch. Ếch bèn hét lớn: “Ǵ vậy? Sao mày lại chích tao? Giờ tao sắp chết ch́m đây; c̣n mày cũng sẽ chết theo!"
Bọ cạp nói: “V́ tao là loài bọ cạp mà!” |

Cháu chào bác OT, anh LN, câu chiện này có rất nh́u ư nghĩa ạ, anh LN và bác OT bi giờ là một cặp song kím hợp bích.....hí hí, anh LN đăng bài và bác OT dịch lại, vậy là cháu Vịt và pà kon gặp hên được đọc cả tiếng Anh và tiếng Việt song song lun rùi nha. Cháu chúc bác và anh giữa từng dzui nh́u ạ...h́ h́.

Em nói đúng đó. Vừa học tiếng Anh, vừa học thêm sự khôn ngoan.
Hay một cái là tác giả dùng những từ đơn giản diễn tả những ǵ họ muốn truyền đạt.
Không như những nhà thơ dùng những từ chả ai hiểu ǵ cả.

Influence/Association
There are two parts to influence: first, influence is powerful; and second, influence is subtle. You wouldn't let someone push you off course, but you might let someone nudge you off course and not even realize it.
We need a variety of input and influence and voices. You cannot get all the answers to life and business from one person or from one source.
Attitude is greatly shaped by influence and association.
Don't spend most of your time on the voices that don't count. Tune out the shallow voices so that you will have more time to tune in the valuable ones.
"No" puts distance between you and the wrong influence.
You must constantly ask yourself these questions: Who am I around? What are they doing to me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most important, what do they have me becoming? Then ask yourself the big question: Is that okay?
Some people you can afford to spend a few minutes with, but not a few hours.
Get around people who have something of value to share with you. Their impact will continue to have a significant effect on your life long after they have departed.

Books, Reading and Your Personal Library
Miss a meal if you have to, but don't miss a book.
Some people claim that it is okay to read trashy novels because sometimes you can find something valuable in them. You can also find a crust of bread in a garbage can, if you search long enough, but there is a better way.
Most homes valued at over $250,000 have a library. That should tell us something.
Everything you need for your better future and success has already been written. And guess what? It's all available. All you have to do is go to the library. But would you believe that only three percent of the people in America have a library card. Wow, they must be expensive! No, they're free. And there's probably a library in every neighborhood. Only three percent!
Some people read so little they have rickets of the mind.
I now have one of the better libraries. I admit that I haven't read everything in my library, but I feel smarter just walking in it.
Don't just read the easy stuff. You may entertained by it, but you will never grow from it.
The book you don't read won't help.
Books are easy to find and easy to buy. A paperback these days only costs six or seven dollars. You can borrow that from your kids!
It isn't what the book costs; it's what it will cost if you don't read it.

Dạo này chị vẫn khỏe chứ?
Lúc trước mới lập gia đ́nh, bà xă nói chừng nữa chúng ḿnh mua xe hới mới nghen! LN nghe xong đứng tim, bởi v́ lúc đó đâu có tiền.
Bây giờ cuộc sống tương đối khá vững, dự định mua xe hơi mới chạy. Bà xă nói thôi mua xe cũ chạy đỡ tốn tiền. LN nghe xong cũng đứng tim, bởi v́ tiền kiếm được th́ phải xài chớ.
Không có tiền th́ khổ. Có tiền cũng bị khổ.

Financial Independence
Shortly after I met my mentor he asked me, "Mr. Rohn, how much money have you saved and invested over the last six years?" And I said, "None." He then asked, "Who sold you on that plan?"
It is better to be a lender than a spender.
To become financially independent you must turn part of your income into capital; turn capital into enterprise; turn enterprise into profit; turn profit into investment; and turn investment into financial independence.
Financial independence is the ability to live from the income of your own personal resources.
If you depend on your company to take care of your retirement, your future income will be divided by five. Take care of it yourself, and you can multiply your future income by five.
I remember saying to my mentor, "If I had more money, I would have a better plan." He quickly responded, "I would suggest that if you had a better plan, you would have more money." You see, it's not the amount that counts; it's the plan that counts.
If you were to show me your current financial plan, would I get so excited by it that I would go across the country and lecture on it? If the answer is no, then here's my question: "Why not"? Why wouldn't you have a superior financial plan that is taking you to the places you want to go?
I used to say, "Things cost too much." Then my teacher straightened me out on that by saying, "The problem isn't that things cost too much. The problem is that you can't afford it." That's when I finally understood that the problem wasn't "it" © the problem was "me."
The Bible says that it is hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven. It doesn't say that it is impossible!
